The historical fort is known as Agra Fort is located in Agra, India. Up until 1638, when the capital was moved from Agra to Delhi, it served as the main residence of the Mughal rulers. UNESCO designated the Agra fort as a World Heritage monument. It is located around 2.5 miles northwest of its Taj Mahal-related sister structure. The fort is better characterised as a walled city.
