Hyderabad police action in 1948
The police action in Hyderabad in September 1948 by the then-recently independent Dominion of India against the Hyderabad State was known as “Operation Polo.” In a military operation, the Indian Armed Forces invaded the princely state governed by the Nizam and annexed it to the Indian Union.
