Local legend says that Ramakrishna Jambhekar Maharaj, an enthusiastic devotee of the Hindu saint Akkalkot Swami Samarth, followed the guru’s directions and buried two idols in front of the Siddhivinayak statue. 21 years after the burial of these two idols, as Swami Samarth had predicted, a Mandar tree appeared on the site. On the branches of the tree was an image of Svayambhu Ganesha.
